The recruitment process

Our recruitment process will help you get an idea of what it's like to work at T-Mobile, as well as helping us see where you might fit in. Remember, we're not trying to catch you out - it's a chance for you to get to know us.

Seen a vacancy you like?

If you've seen a position you like the sound of, please take a few minutes to apply online. This won't take long - we just need your CV and contact details, and for some jobs we'll also ask you a few questions.

Our recruitment team and the manager for the job will review your online application. We might call you to ask you more about what you've put on your application or invite you to come in for an interview.

This is when you'll meet the recruiter for the job you're interested in. Keep hold of their phone number - you'll probably have some questions yourself, and they'll be your main contact at T-Mobile.

It's a good idea to check your email and voicemail regularly. We use email and telephone to stay in touch, so it's important that we can get hold of you if we need to.

What to expect from an assessment

There are a wide variety of roles here at T-Mobile which require different skill sets and so we have built bespoke processes for each position. The way we assess candidates depends on the job, but there are some tools that we use a lot to help us decide.

A competency-based interview. Meeting you at interview helps us find out how you approach your work, how you respond to different situations and how we can help you develop if you get the job. We might ask you for examples of how your previous experience has prepared you for the job.

An interactive element, like role play. We mainly use this in assessments for jobs where working with other people is very important - team-based, management or leadership jobs, for example. We might also ask for case studies or a presentation, either prepared in advance or developed in the interview.

An ability test or personality profile. We send this type of test out by email, for you to complete at home.

Ability tests help you show your skill in areas that are hard to demonstrate in conversation, like numerical reasoning.

We mainly use personality profiling for key leadership roles. To help us get more out of your interview, we will ask you to complete a personality profile before we interview you.

We hope our recruitment process will give you some insight into why people like working for us. The best advice we can give you is to be open and honest. We'll do the same - so come armed with questions and you'll get the most out of the process.
