3G
3G is the third generation of mobile networks, following GSM (2G) and GPRS (2.5G). Its full name is UMTS (universal mobile telecommunications system). 3G offers much higher data speeds, when connecting to existing services over your phone, laptop, smartphone or other device.
GPRS
GPRS - General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) technology allows mobiles to send and receive data and make fact connections to the internet. Your mobile can be permanently connected to the internet, but you'll only be charged when it's receiving or sending data.
HSDPA
HSDPA makes the 3G network faster so you can download files and surf the internet at higher speeds. It covers all of our 3G network. Your connection will run at HSDPA speeds if you are using the silver data card and you're in a 3G coverage area.
VOIP and MOIP
When you make a telephone call over the internet, you're using VOIP or 'voice over internet protocol'. MOIP means 'messaging over internet protocol' which is more commonly known as instant messaging. You can only use VOIP with web'n'walk Max.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is the popular term for a high-frequency wireless local area network (WLAN) technology and standard that has gained acceptance in many companies as an alternative to a wired LAN.
WLAN
WLAN (Wireless Local Area Networks) operate within a building, office or home environment and public spaces over a distance of approximately 100 metres and a data transmission rate of up to 11 Mbps via radio waves.
