Mark

Customer Services Management
Information (CS MI) & Analysis Manager

Team Manager
I joined T-mobile as a Team Manager at the Greenock call centre, heading up a team of 12 Customer Service Agents taking in-bound customer calls. Previously I had been a deputy manager at Safeways.
Operations Manager
In June 2001 I was seconded for the Operations Manager who was away for around five months. I looked after eight Customer Service Managers and their teams. I may good use of this management experience, learning more about guiding and coaching managers and dealing with staff development.
Systems Optimisation Co-ordinator
In November of the same year I pursued an opportunity brought to my attention by my line manager to join the new Systems Team in Greenock, successfully applying to be Optimisation Co-ordinator.

Acting as an intermediary between Information Systems and all the UK call centres, my job now focused on delivering high-profile projects improving processes and operations across all our contact centres. As part of a brand new team, I took this opportunity to make a real name for myself within the business.
Head of Test and Analysis
I was asked to head up the increasingly busy team of seven testers and analysts in March 2003. This was a big responsibility, each team member was personally responsible for assessing some huge projects in the UK.

During this time I also completed a Business degree at Glasgow Caledonian University. After sourcing and selecting the course, I presented a business case to my line manager. Impressed, T-Mobile agreed to sponsor me during my degree.
CS & MI Manager
I was appointed CS MI & Analysis Manager in June 2006. I am now responsible for managing all the information that drives the business, ensuring Customer Services has all the relevant and up-to-date information it needs to operate in a competitive and efficient way. My job now involves creating long-term data and information strategies.

"My career path has been varied since I arrived here in 2000. I feel I've progressed a long way in a short space of time, helped by supportive managers and my own determination to get on at a great company. My new job is my latest exciting opportunity here. It's another great challenge."

SAP Technical Consultant (HR)

Recruitment Advisor
I joined One 2 One on a contract basis in February 2000 as a Recruitment Advisor to the Network Technology Directorate. I was quickly promoted to Senior Recruitment Advisor and took a permanent position in August 2000.
Project Manager
In April 2001 I then moved from the HR in to the Network Directorate, having taken advantage of the opportunity to work as a project manager. I found that my soft skills - organisation, networking and managing projects and people - were crucial to my getting this position.
SAP 'Process Team' Lead
Initially seconded for three days a week in April 2002 to help with the design of a new system, SAP, I was soon made the process team lead for the whole project and had to manage a team of 12 business secondees and IBM consultants.
Senior Project Manager
After the SAP project went 'live' in 2003, I was given the role of Senior Project Manager within the Business Improvement team. This presented more new challenges including a review of the SAP implementation and looking at the management of T-Mobile's property portfolio.
Maternity leave
In March 2005 I took a year's maternity leave.
SAP Technical Consultant
Back from maternity leave in March 2006, I was looking for a new challenge and sought a new position. I am now SAP Technical Consultant and am responsible for the ongoing SAP and Data Warehouse design for the HR Directorate.

"My success has been driven by my ability to relate to people at literally all levels of the organisation. I generally get on well with people, which really helps in a company like T-Mobile, where it's great to understand how other parts of the business work."
