Phone as a modem
Phones that have a high-speed internet connection built-in can be plugged into your laptop and used as a modem to connect to the internet. So your laptop broadband connection could be sitting on the desk beside you right now.

How much does it cost?
There are two plans to choose from - Mobile Broadband Max or Plus. You need to add either Mobile Broadband Max or Plus to your Flext voice plan to allow your phone to connect your laptop to the internet.

Mobile Broadband Plus
Perfect for web browsing, accessing emails, downloading files and audio/ video streaming (excludes internet calling services like Skype) and no matter how much you surf, your monthly cost is fixed *.

Mobile Broadband Max
All the same benefits of Mobile Broadband Plus but you can use internet calling services like Skype. Plus no matter how much you surf, your monthly cost is fixed *.
How do I get it?
New customers
If you want to use your phone to connect your laptop to the internet, choose from one of our Flext plans and then when you get to the 'Optional extras' page add either Mobile Broadband Plus or Max to your plan. Remember to select a compatible phone.
Existing customers
If you're a Flext customer and you have a compatible T-Mobile phone, then just follow these steps:
- Add Mobile Broadband Plus or Max to your price plan in My T-Mobile. Once you've logged into My T-Mobile, click on "Price Plan" on the left hand navigation, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on "web'n'walk gives you unlimited Internet on the move", you should now see two tick box options to add Mobile Broadband Max and Plus. Select one and they'll be automatically added to your plan.
- Install software on your laptop - this should be in the box your phone came in. If you don't have the software please visit your phone manufacturer's website and download the software from there.
- Connect your phone to your laptop using a USB cable (this will be in the box too) or Bluetooth.
