VAT returns to the standard rate of 17.5% from 1 January 2010

1. I have a T-Mobile price plan, what does this mean?
Having passed on the saving to our customers for the past 12 months, we're now updating our pricing to reflect the 17.5% standard rate for VAT so you will see a slight increase in your bill.
2. Will my allowance change (eg my minutes and texts)?
No, your allowance of minutes and texts stays the same.
3. When will you apply the new VAT to my bill?
All bills dated and printed from 1 January 2010 onwards will show the standard 17.5% rate.
4. I'm a Flext customer, why does the allowance on my bill look different?
Your allowance will go back to the same level as before the VAT decrease, or if you're a new customer to the level set when you joined.
5. Will the price of pay monthly Boosters and other additional T-Mobile services increase?
Yes. The standard VAT rate of 17.5% will be applied every month to the total price of your bill, so this will automatically include Boosters and other T-Mobile services.
6. I often make calls when I'm abroad. How will this affect my bill?
Calls made outside the EU aren't affected by VAT anyway, so only EU calls are affected. The new standard rate of VAT will be added to the total price of your bill, which should automatically include calls and texts while you've been travelling abroad. Some calls take a couple of months to come through on your bill. If the calls get added to a bill dated 1 January onwards, you'll automatically get the 17.5% VAT rate for those calls.
7. I'm a U-Fix customer. How does this work for me?
From 1 January the standard rate of 17.5% VAT will show on your bill.
8. Will the price of things like ringtones increase?
Yes. All T-Mobile products and services you buy (through t-zones or internet on your phone) will be at the standard 17.5% VAT rate. However, pricing of products and services you buy from other third party multimedia or download providers are not controlled by T-Mobile even though you have to pay the cost of those product and services through your T-Mobile bill.
9. How do I work out my VAT changes?
Just take the total charges on your bill shown as 'your new balance' and multiply this by 17.5% to get the amount of VAT you would have paid.
